If You Want to Make Money in 2025, Learn These 3 Skills

After spending over 10 years in the classroom, I thought I had everything figured out. I was passionate about teaching, I had the qualifications, and I truly loved helping students succeed.

But there came a point where I realized something painful: being good at your job isn’t always enough to thrive in today’s world.

I had to step outside the classroom and into the digital world to learn the real skills that school never taught me. Fast forward to today, I now teach students from across the globe and have built a TikTok community of over 500,000 followers—all by applying the very skills I’m about to share with you.

Whether you're a student, teacher, or professional, these 3 skills are non-negotiable if you want to thrive in the 21st-century economy.

1. Personal Branding

Let’s face it: your degree or job title is no longer your most powerful asset—your brand is.

When I started sharing simple maths tips online, I didn’t expect much. But the more I showed up, the more people connected with my teaching style, my story, and my passion. That’s when I learned: people don’t just buy your service—they buy into you.

Schools train us to be employable, not to stand out. But in today’s economy, you need to be visible, relatable, and valuable. That’s how I went from teaching in a physical classroom to earning online by teaching students from the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and beyond.

Your brand opens doors your qualifications can’t.

2. Financial Intelligence

I’ve taught students how to solve complex equations—but for years, I didn’t understand how to solve the problem of money in my own life.

No one taught me how to:

Create multiple income streams

Price my skills confidently

Turn knowledge into digital products

Budget, save, and invest intentionally

School teaches you how to work for money—but not how to make money work for you.

Once I started thinking beyond salary and explored online tutoring, content creation, and digital entrepreneurship, everything changed. I began to earn more while working smarter, not harder.

Teachers, students—financial literacy is the education we all need but rarely get.

3. Adaptability & Self-Learning

One of the biggest lies school sells is that learning ends with exams or graduation.

In the real world, the ability to keep learning, adapting, and reinventing yourself is the key to survival.

When I first picked up my phone to film a video, I knew nothing about TikTok. But I studied, practiced, failed forward—and now it’s a tool that fuels my income and impact.

What’s more important than your degree? Your mindset. Your willingness to learn new things, use new tools, and grow beyond your comfort zone.

The world is moving fast. You either keep up, or get left behind.

Final Thoughts

As a teacher, I’ve seen first-hand how the world is changing—and how school isn’t keeping up.

If I could give you just 3 things to focus on beyond the classroom, they’d be:

Build a brand that makes people remember you

Master your money so you don’t stay broke while working hard

Stay curious, flexible, and committed to lifelong learning

Because today, success isn’t just about what you know—it’s about how you use it, share it, and grow from it.

And if I—a regular teacher—can grow an online business, teach globally, and build a half-a-million-strong community from my phone, you can too.

Let this post be your permission to think bigger than your certificate.

Your future is not limited by your background—but by your mindset.
